BMI Calculator for Adults
BMI (Body Mass Index) is calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters. This chart applies to adults only, as the BMI ranges are different for children and adolescents.

Just choose a measuring system, type your numbers in the boxes, then click the button.
Your BMI:
BMI Categories (WHO standard)
Less than 16.0 Underweight – Severe thinness
16.0 to 16.9 Underweight – Moderate thinness
17.0 to 18.4 Underweight – Mild thinness
18.5 to 24.9 Normal weight
25.0 to 29.9 Overweight
30.0 to 34.9 Obese Class I (Moderate)
35.0 to 39.9 Obese Class II (Severe)
40.0 and above Obese Class III (Very severe or morbid)

Caveat: BMI is a rough guide and doesn’t always reflect true health, since it can be misleading for people with higher muscle mass, larger or smaller body frames, or different bone densities.
